For the leaders holding the chaos together behind the scenes, this year the National Chimney Sweep Guild has a new, in-depth program: Office Manager Essentials.
This class is for the person who is responsible for everything but often isn’t empowered with the training or structure to lead it well. Office Manager Essentials is designed to help office managers step into true operational leadership, using numbers, systems, and communication standards to stabilize the business.
In this class, we’ll teach clear tools for running weekly scorecards, creating consistency, improving communication and accountability between departments, and protecting profit through better coordination.
It’s not bookkeeping, and it’s not vague HR theory. It's the real-world keys to running a successful office.
Office Manager Essentials is a one-day, in-person class at Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The day will begin at 8:00 am ET and end at 5:00 pm ET with a 30-minute lunch break and a few short breaks throughout the day.
The instructor for the class is Lauren Turnock on behalf of the National Chimney Sweep Guild. Lauren is the Head of Resources for Rooftop Chimney Sweeps in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Official Manager Essentials on Tuesday, May 5 will take place immediately after the Mid-Atlantic Hearth, Patio, & Barbecue Association (HPBA) Annual Conference at Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA. The MAHPBA Annual Conference ends at 4:00 pm on Monday, May 4. Office Manager Essentials starts at 8:00 am the following morning at Hershey Lodge. Classroom assignments are still being finalized.
